Change the settings on Voxhub for Android

There are a number of settings that you can modify to improve the performance of Voxhub for Android on your network and for how you work.

The settings are divided up into groups to make them easier to naivgate.

Accounts

  • Personal - xxxxx
  • Team - xxxxx
  • Messaging - xxxxx
  • Each of these has a circle to the right of it, either grey or green with a tick, tapping the circle will change the status of the account from active to inactive or vice versa. Tapping on any of the names will take you into the specific settings for that account.

Personal - xxxxx and Team - xxxxx - The settings options are the same for both of these.

  • Account Name - This is your identity for logging into the Messaging service.
  • Display As - How your name will be displayed when you send messages to your contacts.
  • Password - This is your password for the Messaging service.
  • These fields are set automatically when you log in.

    Account Specific Features

  • Disable Mobile Data - Lets you restrict the account to only being available when using WiFi.
  • Disable VoIP Calls - allows you to disable calls whiles staying available for other data traffic while running on Mobile data.
  • Enable IM and Presence - This setting is not currently used by Voxtop for Android.
  • Dial Plan (Number Prefixes) - This setting is not currently used by Voxtop for Android.

Messaging - xxxxx

  • Account Name
  • USER DETAILS

  • Username - You do not need to edit this as it is set automatically
  • Password - You do not need to edit this as it is set automatically
  • Domain - You do not need to edit this as it is set automatically
  • ACCOUNT EXTRAS

  • Account Specific Features - Disable Mobile Data - this will prevent the message service from using your mobile data
  • Account Advanced - All of the settings within this menu are set automatically and should not be edited.

Preferences

    MOBILE DATA NETWORK

  • Use When Available - This setting allows calls and Messages to be sent over your Mobile data, when the network is available.
  • Allow VoIP Calls - When this is disabled, calls will not be passed through while you're on your Mobile data, you'd still receive Messages if the previous setting is enabled.
  • INCOMING CALL

  • Play Ringtone - Turns the ringer for incoming calls on or off, essentially allowing you to put the phone in "silent" mode.
  • Vibrate - This allows you to enable or disable the vibratiing alert for incoming calls.
  • Contact Image - This allows the Voxtop for Android application to display the image associated with a contact on your phone when making and receiving calls.
  • Ringtone - You can set the ringtone from any available on your device, allowing you to differentiate between Voxhub calls and those received via your mobile carrier.
  • MESSAGING

  • Alert Sound - Turns the message alert sound on and off.
  • Alert Vibration - Turns the vibrating notification for new messages on and off.
  • Alert Text Tone - Allows you to set the notification tone for new messages.
  • CALL IN PROGRESS

  • Play Music On Hold - If this is enabled then when placed on hold the other participants will hear the default hold music for your service.
  • PHONE NUMBER

  • Single Touch to Call - When this is on tapping a number in the contacts or call history lists will initiate a call.
  • Show URI Domain - This will show the destination domain where this information is available.
  • CLIENT-SIDE CALL FORWARDING

  • Forward Calls - Once this is enabled your calls will be redirected by Voxhub for Android.
  • To Number - This is where you set the destination number for call forwards.
  • ADDITIONAL

  • Audio Gain - This allows you to adjust the outgoing audio volume, follow the instructions on screen after tapping this option.
  • Play Keypad Tone - When enabled each key press will play a tone.
  • Keep Wi-Fi Radio Awake - Enabling this forces your phone to maintain it's Wi-Fi connection while within range rather than letting it go into "standby".
  • Auto Start on Boot - When this setting is enabled the Voxhub for Android application will run every time your phone starts.
  • Contact Sort Order - This changes the setting for the contact list within the application and not for the Android contact list. If you have given access to the native Android list then it will not be changeable.
  • Contact Display Order - This changes the setting for the contact list within the application and not for the Android contact list. If you have given access to the native Android list then it will not be changeable.
  • Use Phonetic Sorting - Changes the sorting to account for silent letters and for example "Ph" sounds. Enabling this will impact the speed with which contacts load.
  • Use LED Motifications - Changing this setting will adjust whether or not the LED on your device flashes when you have calls or notifications.
  • LDAP SETTINGS

  • LDAP Settings - This sub-menu lets you set which headings are searched when using an LDAP directory.
  • LOGIN CONTROL

  • Auto Login - When this feature is enabled, the application will login automatically when it starts.

Advanced Settings

    MEDIA OPTIONS

  • Use Bluetooth - Allows or prevents access to Bluetooth devices.
  • Voice Activity Detection - When active this reduces data usage by not sending any audio when you're not speaking, however this may sound odd to the other person on the call.
  • Noise Reduction Rx - Attempts to "clean up" incoming audio, this is demanding on your device so may cause some loss of call quality.
  • Echo Cancellation - Attempts to reduce echo on both incoming and outbound audio.
  • Microphone Gain - Gives you 5 options for the level of outbound audio volume.
  • Speaker Gain - Gives you 5 options for the level of incoming audio volume.
  • ADVANCED MEDIA OPTIONS

  • Audio API Type - If you experience poor audio, try changing this setting, the default is OpenSL ES.
  • Echo Cancellation Mode - When set to Auto the Application can switch between Hardware and Software echo cancellation by itself.
  • AUDIO CODECS SELECTION

  • Mobile Audio Codecs - This is set automatically by our servers.
  • Wi-Fi Audio Codecs - This is set automatically by our servers.
  • DEVICE HARDWARE

  • Speakerphone Fix - Gives Voxhub for Android access to your speakerphone.
  • Audio Input Source - Changes how outbound audio is handled, you can change this if the person you are speaking to is experiencing poor call quality, the default setting is Voice Communication.
  • Playback Stream - Changes how incoming audio is handled, you can change this if you are experiencing poor call quality, the default setting is Voice Call.
  • APPLICATION LOGGING

  • Verbose Logging - Ensures that Voxhub for Android is capturing as much detail as possible about how it's functioning, if you're experiencing stability issues please make sure this is enabled.
  • Send Log - Sends the log file through to the development team for investigation of any issues, generally this would be requested by our team.
  • Call Statistics - Shows detailed information on the last/current call.
